The 9th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the students and the staff at Delhi Public School, Rudrapur.
The program began with the recitation of the Gayatri mantra followed by Surya namaskar. Various yog asanas like padmasana, vajrasana, trikonasana etc. were performed under the able guidance of the Yoga educators. It's scientific nature despite its origin from the Rishi Parampara along with its numerous benefits were highlighted. The program drew to a close with a pranayama and meditation session.
The Chairman of DPS-Rudrapur, Shri Surjit Singh Grover ji, expressed his concern about how the modern lifestyle brings tremendous pressure on the students to outperform and stay ahead in the competition, which in turn takes a huge toll on their health. He mentioned how the school ensures that students take regular yoga and meditation sessions to encourage fitness as a way of life. He also encouraged everyone to actively adopt yoga to boost learning, good health and a bright future.
