Astronomy is a science, which explores the formation of our Universe. To instill a sense of curiosity in the young generation regarding the astronomical phenomena, DPR, Rudrapur launched a unique Planetarium project, today, i.e, September 01, 2023.
The Chief guest of the occasion was, Mr Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State, Defence & Tourism, Government of India who inaugurated the state-of-the-art Planetarium project of Delhi Public School, Rudrapur.
The special guests of the day, Shri Shiv Arora, Minister of Legislative Assembly, Rudrapur, Shri Tilakraj Baher, Minister of Legislative Assembly, Kichha, Mr Rampal Singh, Mayor, Rudrapur, Mr Kamal Jindal, Jila Adhyaksh, Bhartiya Janta Party,
Mr Vikas Sharma, Pradesh Mantri, Bhartiya Janta Party, Mr Vivek Saxena, Purv- Jila Adhyaksh, BJP, Mr Vipin Jalhotra, Block Pramukh, Ms Saira Bano, Upadhyaksh, Mahila Aayog, UP and Shri Rajendra Shridhar, a close associate of DPS, R also graced the inaugural ceremony with their benign presence.
The event commenced with a welcome note of the Principal, Mr Chetan Chauhan, followed by a musical treat by the school choir. A group dance performance on the life of Lord Shiva was also performed by the students on this momentous day.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Mr Ajay Bhatt congratulated all the members of DPS, R on the launch of the first ever Planetarium project in Uttarakhand. He also expressed his opinion that the planetarium will improve the comprehension of students about solar system through its astronomical presentations.
He expressed faith that the planetarium will significantly advance kids' knowledge of and enthusiasm for science.
