Soulful Play by 'SPICMACAY '*in collaboration with 'Naya theatre group

Delhi Public School and Jaycees Public School, Rudrapur staged a soulful play by 'SPICMACAY '*in collaboration with 'Naya theatre group' , Bhopal"Those who haven't seen Lahore, haven't really lived.", A heart touching story of a woman during Partition on 6 September 2023 at the Auditorium of Jaycees Public School. 
SPICMAY ( Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) has staged more than 5000 programs in almost 1000 cities  organized by thousands of volunteers - largely students, teachers , housewives, retired people, professionally, young and old. The most accomplished artists of the country render programs of Indian Classical Music and dance , folk , poetry, theatre, traditional paintings , crafts and yoga primarily in schools and colleges.
The Program began with the welcoming of the renowned dignitaries of the town. 
The play narrates the story of a Muslim family (Mirzas) that migrates from Lucknow to Lahore and is allotted a haveli vacated by a departing Hindu family. As they arrive in Lahore, they find an elderly Hindu woman living in the haveli, claiming rights and refusing to leave. However, it is when the fellow Muslims leaving in the neighborhood and also the goons of the city gets to know that a Hindu woman is living with a Muslim family, they try to create trouble for them and spew hatred towards the elderly woman. One day the old woman dies. After that, a question arises on how her last rites should be implemented. On the advice of one local Maulvi, the Mirzas cremate the elderly woman as per Hindu religion by lighting the funeral pyre on the bank of river Ravi. However, this results in nothing but the goons and fellow Muslims killing that Maulvi in order to assert themselves of being true Muslims.
The play received a thunderous applause from the audience . The artists were introduced to the audience with their real identity and names. It was indeed a magical spell of artistic skills that touched everyone's heart leaving behind a message of Communal harmony.

The Program ended with words of appreciation by Honorable Chairman Shri Surjit Singh Grover.
