Special Assembly on Earth Day | EARTH DAY – Our Power, Our Planet
“Let us be grateful to our planet that sustains life and to the actions that protect its beauty and balance.”
In honour of our beautiful planet, Delhi Public School, Rudrapur observed Earth Day with deep reverence and vibrant enthusiasm through a Special Morning Assembly, aimed at spreading awareness and instilling a sense of environmental responsibility among students.
The assembly commenced with a silent prayer, allowing everyone a moment of calm reflection. This was followed by the main prayer, invoking a sense of gratitude and harmony with nature. Students then collectively took the Earth Day pledge, committing themselves to protect and preserve our environment.
The programme continued with the Thought of the Day, highlighting how small steps can make a big difference for the Earth, followed by the Word of the Day, introducing meaningful environmental vocabulary to the students.
Next, the news headlines were presented, covering significant national, international, and environmental updates. To engage the audience further, GK questions related to Earth Day, sustainability, and nature were shared, enhancing awareness and knowledge.
Thematic presentations began with a skit depicting the harmful effects of pollution and emphasizing the importance of adopting eco-friendly habits. Through powerful performances, students spread impactful messages on reducing plastic use, conserving water, and planting trees. This was followed by a lively dance performance celebrating the beauty of Mother Earth and inspiring all to protect it.
Our respected Principal Sir addressed the gathering with his inspiring words, urging students to become responsible stewards of the planet. He emphasized care, consciousness, and collective efforts in tackling climate change and environmental degradation.
The assembly concluded with a heartfelt take-away message:
“The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth. Let’s nurture it today for a better tomorrow.”
Wishing everyone a greener tomorrow and a world blooming with hope, harmony, and sustainability.
