“Harela is the perfect time to reflect on nature’s gifts and renew our bond with the earth.”
Our school celebrated the vibrant festival of Harela with joy and reverence, showcasing our deep bond with nature and Kumaoni culture. The program began with the welcome of the special guest, Mr Sanjay Singhal,
Former Plant Head Titan Watch and Mr Hemant Pant, Ted X talk speaker, Vice Chairman Mr. Harman Singh Grover and Ms Mandeep followed by the pinning of badges, teeka ceremony, and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing knowledge and purity. A melodious Ashish Vachan, sung by a local geetkar, added a devotional charm to the event.
Our Principal, Mr Chetan Chauhan delivered a heartfelt welcome address, emphasizing the importance of Harela as a reminder to respect nature and promote sustainable living. Students highlighted the festival’s significance through speeches and performances. A cultural presentation on “Shivjyu Mahima”, portraying the divine glory of Lord Shiva in the Mayar Kumaun style, captivated everyone.
The guest’s speech motivated students to stay connected with their roots and actively protect the environment. Chairman Sir blessed the gathering, urging young minds to plant trees and nurture them with care. The celebration ended with the presentation of a memento to the guest as a token of appreciation. The event beautifully conveyed the message that Harela is more than a tradition — it is a call to grow in harmony with nature, with the theme, Ek Ped Maa ke Naam.
