Fitzroy Phonic Reader Workshop | Delhi Public School, Rudrapur
Classes: Pre-Primary to Grade 2
Delhi Public School, Rudrapur successfully organized an enriching Fitzroy Phonic Reader Workshop for teachers handling Pre-Primary to Grade 2, aimed at strengthening early literacy development and phonics teaching methods.
The workshop was conducted by renowned phonics trainer Ms. Priyali Goel, an accredited Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar Trainer with over 20 years of experience in inclusive education and curriculum design. Her engaging and practical approach made the session interactive, insightful, and highly beneficial for educators.
The workshop focused on building strong foundational reading skills through multi-sensory phonics learning techniques. Teachers gained deeper insights into pure letter sounds and the correct pronunciation of the 42 phonetic sounds, which are essential for effective phonics instruction and early reading development.
Participants also learned blending and segmenting strategies, enabling children to read words by combining sounds and break them apart for spelling. Through movement-based and activity-driven phonics teaching, teachers explored innovative ways to make learning fun, interactive, and engaging for young learners.
A key highlight of the session was story-based phonics pedagogy, where phonics learning is integrated with engaging storytelling techniques to create a joyful, contextual, and meaningful learning environment. The workshop also emphasized inclusive teaching strategies, ensuring phonics instruction effectively supports diverse learners in the classroom.
The school expresses sincere gratitude to the Honourable Chairman, Shri Surjit Singh Grover, Vice Chairman, Shri Harman Singh Grover, and our respected Principal Sir for continuously encouraging teacher training, professional development, and innovative teaching practices.
