The CBSE National Fencing Championship 2026, proudly hosted by Delhi Public School, Rudrapur, entered its third day with an extraordinary display of athletic excellence, determination, and sportsmanship. Bringing together the country's finest young fencing talent, the championship continues to provide a prestigious national platform where discipline, perseverance, and competitive spirit are celebrated through sport.
Day 3 featured intense and closely contested bouts in the Cadet Boys' Épée, Junior Boys' Foil, and Junior Girls' Sabre categories. Throughout the day, athletes demonstrated remarkable technical precision, tactical brilliance, agility, and resilience, creating an electrifying atmosphere that captivated spectators, coaches, officials, and fellow participants.
The championship witnessed exceptional performances from competitors representing schools across India, reflecting the growing standards of school fencing and the commitment of young athletes towards excellence.
A memorable highlight of the day came when Pankhuri Shukla of Delhi Public School, Rudrapur, secured the Bronze Medal in the Junior Girls' Sabre category. Her remarkable achievement brought immense pride to the host institution and stood as a testament to the school's continued commitment to nurturing sporting talent alongside academic excellence.
The championship was honoured by the gracious presence of Shri Hari Singh Grover, Shri Manjit Singh Makkar, Shri Inderjit Singh, Shri Gurmeet Singh Gabba, Shri Kamaljit Singh, Shri Harvinder Singh, Shri Joginder Singh, Shri Dalip Singh Ahuja, Shri Ankit Agrawal (Managing Director, Swastik Jewellers), Shri Sumit Arora, Shri Manpreet Singh Sukhija, Shri Manvendra Yadav, Shri Rumil Chawla, Shri Vishnu Saxena, Shri Gautam Gulati, and Shri Vipin Gulati.
The distinguished dignitaries witnessed several exciting bouts and interacted with the participants, appreciating their exceptional performances and unwavering commitment. Addressing the gathering, they emphasized that national-level sporting events play a vital role in developing discipline, confidence, leadership, resilience, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among young learners. They also applauded the flawless organisation and warm hospitality extended by Delhi Public School, Rudrapur, in successfully hosting an event of such national importance.
Organised from 26 September to 2 October 2026, the championship has brought together more than 1,500 athletes and coaches along with over 350 technical officials, referees, judges, and event officials from schools across the country. The event has transformed the DPS Rudrapur campus into a vibrant centre of sporting excellence, where young athletes are competing with passion while building friendships and sharing experiences beyond regional boundaries.
As the championship progresses towards its Grand Finale on 2 October 2026, the excitement continues to intensify. With every passing day, the competition reflects the values of perseverance, integrity, excellence, and sportsmanship that lie at the heart of the CBSE sporting ecosystem.
