"Aiming for Excellence, Uniting Through Archery" CBSE North Zone 1 Archery Championship
The North Zone Archery Championship 2024 is being hosted by Delhi Public School, Rudrapur from 15 September to 17 September 2024. It kicked off with great enthusiasm, bringing together some of the most talented young archers from across Uttarakhand and North Western Uttar Pradesh.
Day 1 began with an impressive opening ceremony inaugurated by Mr. Tilak Raj Behar Ji, MLA, Kiccha. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of hon'ble Shri D.K. Sharma Ji, Senior Advocate in the High Court of Nainital, hon'ble Shri Manish Bisht Ji, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Udham Singh Nagar, Major Keshav Singhla Ji, MD, PSB Papers & Pvt. Ltd, Dr. Nagendra Sharma Ji, Sports Officer and Secretary Sports Board, Kumaon University, Nainital, and **hon'ble Shri Gautam Kathuria Ji, renowned Chartered Accountant and MD, Gautam Kathuria and Associates. It marked a vibrant display of traditional and modern archery culture.
Dignitaries from the sports community, local authorities, and the school administration were present to inaugurate the event. The opening remarks emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, focus, and perseverance in archery, setting a tone of camaraderie and healthy competition for the coming days.
The first day saw participants competing in the preliminary rounds, with boys and girls from various age groups showcasing their skills in Indian, recurve, and compound archery. The targets were set at various distances, challenging the archers' accuracy and consistency. Participants competed in both individual and team events, with some excellent performances that left the audience in awe.
The school grounds were filled with cheers and encouragement from the audience, comprising parents, teachers, and fellow students. The excellent facilities at Delhi Public School Rudrapur, combined with a well-organized event schedule, ensured that the day proceeded smoothly, leaving both participants and spectators eager for the next rounds.
With two more days of intense competition ahead, the archery community looks forward to witnessing more thrilling performances as these young athletes compete for regional supremacy.
